A Picture-Perfect Day at Sandy Bottom Farm’s Pumpkin Patch

In October, I had the pleasure of photographing families at the delightful Sandy Bottom Farm Pumpkins. The moment I arrived, I could feel the excitement in the air, with families exploring row after row of pumpkins, all in different shapes, sizes, and colours. From classic orange to ghostly white and even vibrant greens, every pumpkin seemed to have its own personality.

The farm itself was like a scene out of a fall storybook. Not only were there pumpkins galore, but patches of cheerful sunflowers and even a few surprise blooms of bright red poppies added an extra touch of colour and beauty to the landscape. Perfect spots for capturing those natural, happy moments!

To keep everyone fuelled and warm, there was a delicious line-up of food vendors, including Greek cuisine, fresh pizza, and hot drinks from Northern Pourist. There’s something so cosy about sipping a warm drink while taking in the crisp autumn air. The farm is family-run, and you can feel the love and care they put into every detail of the experience. From stilt walkers adding a playful energy to Spiderman making surprise appearances, they had thought of everything to make it a memorable day for families of all ages.

The kids’ faces lit up when they saw the unicorn, and they were absolutely mesmerized by the creepy-crawly critters on display (yes, a few brave little ones even held them!). The amazing face-painting station run by Fantastic Faces was another highlight - every little one seemed to leave transformed into a character of their choosing, with bright colours and incredible detail.

Muddy puddles here and there added to the fun, with kids (and even some parents!) jumping in and laughing together. I loved capturing these candid, joy-filled moments. Each family I met was so warm and friendly; we spent the whole time chatting, laughing, and just enjoying the autumn spirit together.

Sandy Bottom Farm Pumpkins truly knows how to create a magical fall experience, and I left feeling so grateful for the chance to capture such genuine, happy memories for these lovely families. I can’t wait to visit again next season!
